Welcome to IKEA

Welcome to the world of IKEA

We are a value-driven company with a passion for life at home. Every product we create is our idea for making home a better place. At the IKEA Group, we have 345 stores in 48 countries.

Vision and business idea

To create a better everyday life for the many people”, this is the IKEA vision. Our business idea is “to offer a wide range of well-designed, functional home furnishing products at prices so low that as many people as possible will be able to afford them”.
We work hard to achieve quality at affordable prices for our customers through optimizing our entire value chain, by building long-term supplier relationships, investing in highly automated production and producing large volumes. Our vision also goes beyond home furnishing.
We want to create a better everyday for all people impacted by our business.

Investing for the future

The main financial principle of the IKEA Group is to grow by using our own resources. In other words, we earn our money before we spend it. This makes it possible for us to make long-term investments for the future.
The IKEA vision is the foundation for our growth. We want to make sure that IKEA is accessible, so that more people can create a better everyday life at home. We re-invest a majority of our profits in existing and new IKEA stores, as well as in product development, sustainable solutions and by continuously lowering prices to our customers.

  Quality products at low prices

To reach many people, our products must be of good quality and affordable. We design with our customers’ needs in mind. Read about our process in Democratic Design.
The growth of our people is also our development

Our co-workers are essential for our continued growth. We see every person as a talent with the possibility to develop. Find out more in Working at the IKEA Group.

Ingvar Kamprad
, Senior Advisor & Founder

"I decided that the stock market was not an option for IKEA. I knew that only a long-term perspective could secure our growth plans, and I didn't want IKEA to become dependent on financial institutions".

Stores in Greece

IKEA, part of FOURLIS Group, has 5 stores in Athens (Kifissos & Airport), in Thessaloniki, in Larissa and in Ioannina. In order to get closer to the consumers in regions far from the existing stores and to provide its quality products at affordable prices, alternative ways were used.

Therefore, new Pick-up and order points were created in Rhodes, in Crete (Heraklion & Chania), in Patras and in Komotini.

Consumers may use the specially designed spaces of the IKEA Pick-up and order points to:

  • Choose their favourite IKEA-designed products at the special IKEA prices
  • Place their order
  • Benefit from the new program of interest-free installments
  • Receive their purchases from the Point within maximum 5 working days regardless of the purchase cost (if they wish, they may receive it at home with an extra small charge).

To find out more about the IKEA Pick-up and order points, as well as about what’s going on in every store, visit the website of each store and Pick-up and order point.

ΙΚΕΑ as part of FOURLIS Group

FOURLIS Group has evolved from the company that was founded in 1950 by Anastasios Fourlis, invests in its employees, the workspace quality, innovative infrastructure and in functioning relations with the suppliers. This way high productivity level is achieved and the consumer satisfaction is maximized.

Today FOURLIS Group is one of the largest trading groups in consumer goods in Greece, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Romania and Turkey.

FOURLIS Group is an official member of the Global Compact of the United Nations since 2008, proving effectively its devotion to responsible entrepreneurial activity. It is important that FOURLIS Group is active in the development process and contributes actively and stably to the Greek economy. Today FOURLIS Group employs 3.633 people. It should be mentioned that FOURLIS Group since the beginning of the financial crisis in Greece and Europe has invested more than 124.000.000 euros.

Significantly during the negative financial situation of the last years, IKEA (HOUSEMARKET S.A.) and other FOURLIS Group companies stood by the consumers offering quality products in lower prices. This was achieved despite the increased taxation, the several charges and above all, Greece’s small market size which affects greatly the final product sale price.
