Benefits
This stool’s shape is inspired by the iconic thumbstick buttons on your controller, bringing part of the gaming world into your home.
The diamond pattern on top adds an extra detail inspired by the grip of thumbstick buttons.
The shape encourages the same kind of movement as the thumbstick button, so you can follow the game in a natural way.
You maintain balance by keeping your feet on the floor for stability when using the standing support.
Designed in collaboration between IKEA and XBOX.

Designer thoughts
Designer E Hsu/D Wahl
“The idea with YXSTABY gaming stool was to find a balance between function and looks. It needed to work as a stool, with the right seating curvature and stability, while still feeling like the iconic thumbstick on an XBOX Elite controller. Design and engineering went hand in hand, with details like the diamond-patterned seating surface and rubber rings on the bottom. Seeing the thumbstick become a piece of furniture is amazing, and we can't wait to see it in people's home.”
